City’s Basket of Services heads to Lentegeur

Next week Thursday, 20 March 2025, the City of Cape Town’s Corporate Services Directorate is bringing services to Lentegeur Civic Centre in Mitchells Plain. The Basket of Services offering presents an ideal opportunity for residents to get assistance from City officials representing a variety of departments.

The Basket of Services schedule for next week is as follows:

• Thursday, 20 March 2025, from 09:00 to 15:00 at the Lentegeur Civic Centre, Cnr. Merrydale Ave and Melkbos Avenue, Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain

Several City departments will be in attendance to present their services and will assist residents with enquiries or various other municipal matters they would like resolved or clarified. This event is part of the City’s commitment to making local government more accessible to residents.

The following departments will be at the Lentegeur Civic Centre:

• Human Resources for enquiries about bursaries, internships, and apprenticeships

• Social Development to find out how you can get involved

• Business Hub and Jobs Connect

• Customer Relations

• Health to find out more about primary health care services

• Safety and Security for information about traffic and law enforcement services

• EPWP and jobseekers to give unemployed youth an opportunity to register on jobseekers’ database to make them eligible for job opportunities that become available in their local communities.

‘I encourage residents to take up our Basket of Services offering at the Civic Centre in Lentegeur. Bringing so many departments to residents’ doorsteps is evidence of a city that works for all. People get to save on transport costs and can engage directly with staff from these various departments on the day. Those who wish to make use of these services or register for programmes must please remember to bring along their IDs or municipal accounts to help ease the process,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
